Upgrading the Driver

Use this procedure to upgrade a Digi device driver that is installed in your Windows 95/98/Me system. Digi drivers may be delivered on a CD-ROM or downloaded from the Digi Support Web site (http://supportold.digi.com).

Procedure

  1. From the Windows Desktop, right-click My Computer, then choose Properties > Device Manager. Choose Digi AccelePort Xp Serial Cards from the list of devices.
  2. Choose a Digi adapter from the list, then choose Properties.
  3. On the Digi adapter Properties page, choose the Driver tab, then choose Update Driver. Do not uninstall the old driver. The Windows Update Device Driver Wizard appears.
  4. Choose Next. Under the question "What do you want Windows to do?" choose Search for a better driver... > Next. 
  5. Your new driver will be on a Digi CD-ROM or downloaded from the Digi Support Web site. Choose Specify a location, then choose Browse to point to the appropriate driver location.
  6. Choose Next. Windows should indicate that it found an updated driver for your adapter. Under the question "What do you want to install?" choose The updated driver.
  7. To install the new driver, choose Next > Next.
  8. Choose Finish to complete the wizard, then choose Close to close the Properties page. A message will display indicating that you must restart your system for the changes to take effect.
