Configuring the Driver: ISDN 

Use this procedure to configure the Digi adapter to use an ISDN driver.

Prerequisites

You should have loaded the NIAS configuration utility.

Note: You should configure ISDN ports first if you are setting up dial-in access for ISDN and modems.

Procedure
  1. From the NIAS Options menu choose Configure NIAS > Remote Access > Configure Synchronous Interfaces Access.

  2. From the Internetworking Configuration menu choose Boards > and press INSERT.

  3. From the Select a Driver list, choose WHSMCAPI. Novell NetWare will prompt you to enter a board name.

  4. Next choose CAPI Board Options and press Enter.

  5. When asked to autoload the CAPI driver, choose Yes.

  6. From the Select a CAPI Driver list, choose DFCAPRAS. The MAXPORTS screen appears.

  7. Press Enter and select the number of ports appropriate to the board you are installing. Press ESC twice and choose Yes to save settings.

  8. To configure the individual ports, press ESC and choose Network Interfaces from the Internetworking Configuration menu.

  9. Choose a port > PPP Remote Access, and enter the appropriate information from the Information to Gather worksheets. Press ESC > choose Yes to Save Settings. 

  10. Configure the remaining ports as in steps #8 and #9. After all ports are configured press ESC to return to the Internetworking Configuration menu.

  11. Choose Reinitialize System and follow the prompts to reinitialize and exit the installation. 

  12. To finish configuring ISDN ports, load the NIAS configuration utility. 
    If you plan to use both ISDN and modems for dial-in access, go to Configuring the Driver: Modems. If not, continue with step #13.

  13. Choose Configure NIAS > Remote Access > Configure Ports and press Enter.

  14. Scroll to Modem Type > choose  ISDN (AT Controlled).

  15. Press ESC and Yes at the Save Settings screen. Configure the number of ports you want in this same manner.

  16. Press ESC and then Enter to save these settings.

  17. Press ESC repeatedly to return to the NIAS Options screen and choose Exit.
