Installing the Driver: Server Console

Use this procedure to install driver files from the server console.

Prerequisites

Install the driver files for your Digi adapter directly from the CD. You need to know whether you have a DOS-mounted or a Novell NetWare-mounted CD-ROM drive. If it is DOS-mounted, the CD-ROM drive is accessible to DOS applications and Novell NetWare applications without mounting.

If your CD-ROM drive is Novell NetWare-mounted, you must be sure that all of the Novell NetWare CD-ROM device drivers are loaded, insert the CD, and enter the following command to mount it before you begin your installation:

cd mount digi_cd

Procedure

  1. At the system command prompt, type the following:

    load install

A Novell NetWare menu will be displayed.

  2. Choose Product Options, and then choose Install a Product Not Listed from the next menu that displays.
  3. Choose a source directory from which the drivers will be copied.

Press ENTER if you are installing from a diskette.

If installing from CD, press F3, then specify the path to the CD-ROM drive, as shown below:

    Dos Mounted Novell NetWare-Mounted
    Drive:\Novell\directory digi_cd:\drivers\netware\directory

where Drive is the drive letter of the CD device under DOS, and directory is the directory containing the driver files for your Digi adapter (see table):
