Using Digi's Diagnostic Program for PCI Adapters

Use the diagnostics tool provided by Digi to help you verify the operation of your Digi adapter. The DOS-based diagnostic runs a series of tests on the adapter.

Accessing the Program

The diagnostics program must be downloaded from the Digi Technical Support web site, then copied to a blank diskette. For instructions, see Creating Diagnostics Diskettes.

Procedure

  1. Start MS-DOS.
  2. Insert the diskette containing the diagnostic software in the diskette drive.
  3. Enter:

    A:\PCI\UD-PCI

  4. Select an adapter family from the list.
  5. The program displays the adapter base address that was assigned by the host. The other parameters are filled in with default values similar to the following:
    Port: 1
    EIA-232/422: 232
    Loopback: No
    Continuous Test: Yes
    Stop on first: Yes
  6. Press R to start the tests. The tests run consecutively, and pass/fail status is indicated on the right hand side of your screen.
