About dm_gui, dm_admin and dgdxb_config

Introduction

dm_gui, dm_admin and dgdxb_config are utilities which can be used to query and configure Digi RAS and AccelePort Xp adapters.

Uses for dm_gui

dm_gui is a graphical configuration and status utility. Note that dm_admin provides much of the same functionality in a command line user format. For information on using dm_gui, see Configuring the Adapter: GUI.

dm_gui may be used to:

• View adapter information such as adapter type, serial number, part number, and FEP version
• Reset ports
• View the status of port signals
• Display and change modem nationality (Digi RAS adapters only)

Uses for dm_admin

dm_admin is a command line configuration and status utility. Note that dm_gui provides much of the same functionality in a graphical user format. For information on using dm_admin, see Configuring the Adapter: Manual.

Among other things, dm_admin may be used to:

• Display and change modem nationality (Digi RAS adapters only)
• Display adapter information and status
• Query serial channel status and information

Uses for dgdxb_config

dgdxb_config is a utility used to view and change adapter information and to unload and reload adapters.  For information on using dgdxb_config, see Using dgdxb_config.

dgdxb_config may be used to:

• View adapter information such as adapter type, serial number, adapter state and adapter designation letter
• Change the adapter designation letter
• Change the interrupt rate or latency. See About Latency for more information.
• Unload or Reload adapters
