Changing Serial Port Numbers

Use this procedure to change the number of serial ports in Microsoft Windows NT. 

Procedure

1. Go to Start > Programs > Digi EtherLite and SCSI Terminal Server > Port Remapping.
2. Choose the EtherLite module to be modified. Choose Assign.
3. Choose a new starting COM port number. 

   Note: All EtherLite serial ports will automatically be renumbered sequentially beginning with the new number.

4. Choose OK then Finish. The message to reboot or restart the driver appears. You should restart the driver.
5. To restart the driver go to Start > Settings > Control Panel.
6. Select Devices and scroll down to Digi EtherLite/SCSI Terminal Server.
7. Highlight this device and select Stop. Wait for system to stop the device.
8. Next choose to restart the device by selecting Start. Wait for the system to restart the device.
9. Choose Close. 
10. The EtherLite serial ports have been renumbered.
