Master Setup Process

Use this procedure to set up an AccelePort RAS adapter in Windows 2000.

Procedure

  1. Run the Digi Driver Upgrade Wizard on your Windows 2000 system. See Requirements. This wizard helps you upgrade drivers for installed Digi adapters and add drivers for new adapters. Using the wizard ensures Windows Plug and Play installation of new adapters and drivers. See Installing the Driver for detailed information.
  2. Install the adapter. See the appropriate hardware installation card for information.

Note: When you install multiple PCI adapters of the same type on a Windows system, it is sometimes difficult to determine which adapter you are configuring. To avoid confusion, you may wish to install and configure the adapters one at a time.

If you run the Digi Driver Upgrade Wizard before installing the adapter, Windows automatically installs the correct driver.

  3. If you want to use Digi ports as Windows RAS ports, see Configuring Incoming Dial-up Networking Connections.
  4. If you want to enable outbound calling, configure Dial-Up Networking. See Configuring Outgoing Dial-up Networking Connections.
