Configuring the Adapter
Prerequisites
You must install the DataFire SYNC driver to perform this procedure
(see Installing the Driver).
The Digi configuration wizard starts automatically when the
driver software is installed.
Note: For information about the configuration fields on any
screen, choose Help.
Procedure
- The Digi configuration wizard guides you
through the setup process. The wizard's default values for each line protocol
produce a configuration that works for most sites.
Note: The wizard presents configuration parameters for
each line on the SYNC adapter in sequence. You must go through the entire sequence
for all lines until the wizard displays the Done screen. If you exit the
wizard before completing the sequence, it does not save your changes.
When the wizard displays the Done screen, choose Finish to save the
configuration and exit the wizard. The
Digi configuration utility is still active after you exit the wizard.
- You can perform the following operations within the Digi
configuration utility:
- To view configuration parameters, expand the SYNC
adapter lines displayed in the configuration tree to expose configured
entities (such as line protocols and channels). Choose an entity in
the tree to display its basic parameters.
- To change configuration parameters, choose a configured
entity in the tree, then choose Properties to display all of its configurable
parameters.
- When you finish configuring the adapter, choose OK to exit the configuration
utility. Before returning control to Windows, the utility installs additional
driver components to support the logical devices, protocols, and
circuit types you configured. You may see some messages about Windows
activities displayed during this automated process.
