Configuring a Printer

Use this procedure configure a printer.

Procedure

Use one of the following options to configure your printers with Linux drivers.

• Use the Linux printool command.
• Set up the printers manually. To install a printer manually, add the following lines to the end of the inittab file when you are using hardware flow control with a Digi standard cable:

DG01:2345:once: cat < /dev/ttyD1 > /dev/null &

dg01:2345:once:ditty ctspace altpin -ixon

-ixoff -ixany /dev/ttyD1

Note: Use DG01 and dg01 for ttyD1, DG02 and dg02 for /dev/ttyD2, etc. Altpin should be used only on an 8-wire cable with RJ-45 connectors. If you use a 10-pin cable or if the Digi adapter has a DB25 connector, use -altpin.
