For frame relay configurations, gather and record the following information from Telco and your system administrator:
The LMI protocol and the maximum frame size used by the network
The DLCI and CIR for each virtual circuit
The higher-layer protocols to run over each virtual circuit
The higher-layer addresses, such as IP addresses, associated with each virtual circuit
The encapsulation method (as defined in RFC 1490) that should be used to communicate with remote devices
Line speed and clock source
Note: When a line is configured for Frame Relay, industry-standard encapsulation as defined in RFC 1490 is supported. Ensure that routers, bridges, and other devices with which the adapter communicates use RFC 1490 encapsulation. (Some may be configured to use proprietary encapsulation.)
