Installing DPA for Windows

Use these procedures to install DPA for Windows software either downloaded from the Digi Support Web site (http://supportold.digi.com) or located on the Digi CD-ROM. For information about running DPA for Windows, see Using DPA for Windows.

From CD-ROM

Use this procedure to install DPA for Windows software from the Digi CD-ROM. You should have already started the Digi CD-ROM front-end program.

Procedure

1. Choose an Operating System.
2. Choose the Hardware product name.
3. Choose the Software product name (Digi Port Authority).
4. Choose Install Software.
5. Follow the prompts.

Downloaded

Use this procedure to install DPA for Windows software you downloaded from the Digi Support Web site. The installation file is a self-extracting executable named 40002180A.exe.

Procedure

1. From the Windows Start menu, choose Run.
2. In the Run window, choose Browse to navigate to the location of the downloaded file.
3. Choose 40002180A.exe (the name should appear in the File name field), then choose Open.
4. The path to the downloaded file should appear in the Open box in the Run window. Choose OK to begin the installation.
5. The InstallShield Wizard starts. Follow the wizard instructions to complete the installation.
