Use this procedure if you are installing, configuring, and starting the PortAssist Manager server on a Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 or a Microsoft Windows 2000 system for the first time. Configuration involves assigning an administrator password, configuring a list of users, and configuring a list of systems to manage.
If you need to reconfigure the PortAssist Manager HTTP port, go to Reconfiguring the HTTP Port.
If you need to upgrade PortAssist Manager, go to Upgrading PortAssist Manager.
If you need to uninstall PortAssist Manager, go to Uninstalling PortAssist Manager.
Before you begin this procedure, you should have already installed PortAssist Manager. Go to Installing PortAssist Manager.
Note: If you reconfigured the PortAssist Manager HTTP port to port 80, which is the HTTP protocol default, specifying the port number is not required.
Note: The administrator user name is admin. You cannot change this username, but you must specify (and then remember) an administrator password.
