set time

Use the set time command to set and display the time and date kept by the device/terminal server.

Normal users can display the time and date. Root privileges are required to set them.

Command Syntax

Enter the set time command as shown below to set or display the time and date.

set time [date=mon.day.yr] [time=hr.min.sec] [hrmode={12|24}] [AM|PM] [dayofweek={sun|mon|tue|wed|thu|fri|sat}]

date

Specifies the month (expressed numerically), day, and year (use only two digits for the year), separated by periods.

time

Specifies the hour, minute, and second, separated by periods.

hrmode 12 - 12-hour clock

24 - 24-hour clock

AM|PM Specifies AM or PM when hrmode=12.
dayofweek Specifies the day of the week.
