Restricting a User's Access 

Use this topic to restrict the access a user has to the Digi One RealPort and PortServer TS. It addresses:

• Requiring a password
• Restricting the time a user can access the Digi device
• Restricting the user to a type of access, such as menu, command line, or autoconnect access only

Procedure

Supply a set user command that specifies the following:

• A name (on the name field)
• password=on
• A restriction on the time a user can access PortServer TS 8/16 (on the accesstime field). This feature is for PortServer TS 8/16 devices only.
• A restriction on the type of access the user has, such as command line, menu, or autoconnect.

Example

In this example, the user is required to provide a password (see the newpass command for information on issuing passwords)
