Changing Serial Port Names

Use this procedure to change the name of a serial port in Microsoft Windows NT.

Procedure

1. Access the configuration utility by choosing Control Panel > Network > Adapters.

2. Choose your adapter from the list and then Properties.

   The adapter properties page appears.

3. If necessary, expose individual serial ports by clicking the + (plus sign) at the left of the Serial label.

4. Choose a port to rename and then Properties.

5. Supply a new name and then choose OK.
