Use this procedure to upgrade Digi device drivers for Microsoft Windows XP adapters already installed in your system.
Caution: Do not use the Update Driver button on the Driver properties page. This starts the Windows Upgrade Device Driver Wizard, the conventional method of upgrading Windows XP drivers. When used with Digi drivers, this wizard can install mismatched driver components.
Because a Digi device driver often supports multiple types of adapters, you must use the Digi Driver Upgrade Wizard to upgrade drivers. The wizard resolves possible driver conflicts and ensures that the correct drivers install for the Digi adapters in your system.
Digi drivers may be delivered on a CD-ROM or downloaded from the Digi Support Web site (http://supportold.digi.com). Digi drivers for Windows XP may be either signed or unsigned.
d:/path/dgupdate.exe to start
the wizard, where d:/path represents the
full path to the location of the driver software. When the wizard runs, it automatically upgrades any installed drivers that it finds. For any new driver that is unsigned, Windows displays a "Digital Signature Not Found" message, explaining that the driver is not signed. You may see several of these warnings during the installation.
Refer to the on-line help system for assistance. When the installation is complete, the adapter is ready to use. There is no need to restart Windows unless you are told to do so.
