Use this procedure to configure a line to run the X.25 protocol.
If the Digi configuration utility is not displayed, type wancfg, press
ENTER, and then select the SYNC 2000 tab.
Select the line to configure and then specify X.25 as the Connection Type.
Specify Clocking parameters.
If this connection uses a CSU/DSU, which is typically the case, specify External and ignore the Line speed parameter.
If this connection does not use a CSU/DSU, specify Internal and a value in the Line Speed field.
Supply values for Quick Start parameters:
Choose the Quick Start tab.
Specify values for Sequence Numbering, Two-way SVCs (if applicable), and a DTE address (Local Address).
Specify if you want to use Reverse charging.
If you are configuring PVCs or One-way SVCs, do the following:
Choose X.25 Basic and then the Channels tab.
Specify one-way SVCs and PVCs as required.
Inspect the rest of the configuration and make changes as required. Typically, however, the steps listed here result in a useable configuration for most sites.
Configure the local line and virtual circuit attributes by doing the following:
Select IXE and then Local IP to X.25 tab.
Choose Add.
Specify an IP address for the line. If you are using SVCs only, one IP address for the line is typically sufficient. If you are configuring PVCs, ensure that one of the IP addresses on the local side identifies the same IP subnet as the remote side of the PVC (configured in the Remote IP to X.25 tab). See About PVCs and IP Addresses.
Adjust other configuration parameters as required.
Configure attributes of each remote DTE, by doing the following:
Select the Remote IP to X.25 tab and then Add.
Specify an X.25 address or a PVC for the DTE.
Specify an IP address for the DTE.
When you complete configuration, save it by selecting File > Save Changes > Exit.
