Configuring the Adapter

Use this information to configure the ClassicBoard ISA adapter. You need to configure the ISA adapter using the CFG.EXE configuration utility before you install and configure the Digi driver. The driver settings must match the adapter settings.

CFG.EXE is a DOS based utility located on the bootable diskette that came with your adapter. You can also download it from the Digi Support Web site (http://supportold.digi.com) along with a utility for creating a bootable diskette. To run the CFG.EXE utility, do the following:

  1. Insert the bootable diskette and restart your system.
  2. At the DOS prompt, Enter CFG.EXE to start the utility.
  3. Configure the the adapter for legacy operation.
  4. Configure a unique interrupt.
  5. Configure 8 bytles of I/O address space for each COM port present.
  6. Configure 8 bytes of I/O address space to control the interrupt and the on board clock.

Note: This utility also automatically selects an Interrupt Mode. The value is unimportant to the driver, so you can ignore this setting.
