ClassicBoard ISA adapters are high performance serial communications adapters that are completely configurable from software. The adapters conform to ISA bus architecture and install as legacy devices under Microsoft Windows NT 4.0.

The adapters use either 16554 Quad UARTs or 16654 Quad UARTs, which provide some enhanced features not available on a typical serial port adapter. A Quad UART is simply four UARTs (the serial communications chip) in one.
You must manually configure the hardware resources for an ISA adapter using the Digi supplied DOS configuration utility, CFG.EXE.
The ISA adapters will operate with the standard Windows serial driver, but the ClassicBoard ISA driver is recommended for optimum performance. With the ClassicBoard ISA device driver, you can manually configure properties for each adapter port.
