Master Setup Process

Use this process to set up a Digi RAS adapter in a Linux system.

  1. Prepare for configuration by gathering information about your line configuration. See Information to Gather.
  2. Install the adapter. See the appropriate hardware installation card for more information.
  3. Install the Linux device driver package. See Installing the Driver: CD or Installing the Driver: Downloaded. This procedure also loads the driver and builds the RAS capable devices.
  4. If you plan to use PortAssist Manager, load the PortAssist Manager Communication Agent. See About PortAssist Manager and Loading the Communication Agent.
  5. Configure the driver. If your system is running with an X Window environment, see Configuring the Driver: GUI. If your system is not running with an X Window environment, see Configuring the Driver: Manual.
