Reconfiguring the HTTP Port: Windows

Use this procedure to reconfigure the PortAssist Manager HTTP port on a Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 or Microsoft Windows 2000 system. The default port is 8080. You will want to change this port if it is already in use on your system. You may also want to change it to port 80 to simplify access by browsers.

Procedure

  1. From the Start menu, choose Programs > Digi PortAssist Manager > PortAssist Manager Setup.
  2. Select which Java Virtual Machine (JVM) to use.
  3. Choose Configure > OK.
  4. Specify a Port and choose Next.
  5. Note: Some Port numbers are not allowed, such as those outside the range of 1024 to 65535 (except 80).

  6. Once the port has been configured and the service has been restarted, choose Finish.
  7. From the Start menu, choose Programs > Digi PortAssist Manager > Launch PortAssist Manager.

Note: If you launch PortAssist Manager from your browser, the URL is:

http://server_name:port_number
