connect

Use the connect command to initiate a local connection on a selected port. Anyone can issue the connect command. 

To temporarily suspend a connect session, use the escape key defined by the ConnectEsc option of the set user command (default for root is CTRL-[). Use the close command to end the session.

Command Syntax

Enter the connect command as shown below:

connect {[serial_port] | [id_name] | [hunt_group]}

Description

serial_port

Specifies the number of the port on which to establish a connection.

id_name

Specifies the name of the port on which to establish a connection. See the set ports id=id_name command. 

Note: The name parameter is not supported on Digi One RealPort or PortServer TS 2/4 modules.

hunt_group

Specifies a hunt group, defined with the set ports group command.

Note: The hunt group parameter is not supported on Digi One RealPort or PortServer TS 2/4 modules.

In this example, the connect command opens a local connection on port 8:
