Copying the Configuration File to a Host
This section describes how to copy the Digi One RealPort or PortServer TS configuration file to a remote host for editing.
Starting Point
This procedure assumes that you
-
Have an existing configuration on the Digi device that you want to copy to a remote host for editing
-
Are logged in to the Digi device as root, which is a requirement for using the cpconf command to copy the configuration file to a host
Procedure
-
Create a file with appropriate write permissions on the remote host.
-
Ensure that TFTP is running on the remote host.
-
Supply a cpconf command with a tohost field that specifies the following:
-
The IP address of the target host
-
The name of the file that will hold the configuration.
Example
cpconf tohost=199.250.121.12 cnfg-file
