Digi One RealPort and PortServer TS 2/4 Hardware Tour

Introduction

This section provides a brief orientation to Digi One RealPort and PortServer TS 2/4 LEDs, ports and controls, which you may find helpful when you install the hardware.

For information on using the controls and interpreting the LEDs, refer to the Configuration and Administration Guide.

Power Connector

The power connector is located on the side of the unit with the Ethernet connector and LEDs. The Digi One RealPort and PortServer TS 2/4 require an external power supply (provided with the units).

The Digi One RealPort and PortServer TS 2/4 have no integral power switches; instead, power is controlled by plugging/unplugging the external power supply.

Ethernet Connector

The Ethernet connector is a standard RJ-45 jack that accepts a Category-V 10/100-Base-T twisted-pair Ethernet cable.

EIA-232 Serial Connectors

The EIA-232 serial connectors are Digi-standard 10-pin RJ-45 jacks that provide EIA-232 connectivity at data rates up to 230k bps.

Reset Button

The reset button is located near the power connector. It is recessed, and requires a thin object such as a ball-point pen or a paper clip to actuate it. 

LEDs

There are three LEDs on the Digi One RealPort and PortServer TS 2/4:

• PWR - Indicates power-on status. Located near power connector.
• LI - Indicates Ethernet connection status. Green LED located near Ethernet connector.
• ACT - Indicates Ethernet activity status. Yellow LED located near Ethernet connector.
