Configuring the Driver
Use these procedures to configure the RealPort AIO driver for
Novell NetWare.
Before you can load the AIO driver for the first time, you must
configure it to match the PortServer hardware you have installed on
your network.
- The RealPort TCP port must be set to 771. Do not use another
value.
- This driver does not support configuration of Hunt Groups.
Use this procedure to run the Digi configuration utility
(aiopscfg).
Procedure
- Unload the RealPort driver (AIOPSDRV.NLM) by entering the
following command at the server console:
unload aiopsdrv
Note: This step is not necessary if you are configuring
the driver for the first time. However, after loading the driver
for the first time you must unload it before you perform any
subsequent configuration updates.
- Run the configuration utility by entering the following
command:
load aiopscfg
The first time you run the configuration utility, no
configuration file will be present, and the configuration program
will indicate that no PortServers are present.
Use this procedure to add a PortServer to the configuration. The
RealPort driver supports up to sixteen PortServers.
Procedure
- Run the configuration utility as described above.
- Choose Add PortServer and then press <Enter>.
- When prompted for the name of the PortServer, enter the DNS
name assigned during PortServer configuration. Check the PortServer
configuration for the assigned DNS name and IP address.
- When you complete the configuration, save it (see Saving the Configuration,
below).
Removing PortServers
Use this procedure to remove a PortServer from the
configuration.
Procedure
- Unload the RealPort driver, then run the configuration utility
as described above.
- Choose Delete PortServer and press <Enter>. A new pointer
will appear next to the first PortServer in the configuration
box.
- Position the pointer next to the PortServer you wish to delete
and press <Enter>. The PortServer will be removed from the
configuration.
- When you complete the configuration, save it (see Saving the Configuration,
below).
Use this procedure to save the configuration.
Procedure
- When you have completed the RealPort driver configuration,
either use the arrow keys to position the pointer next to Exit, and
press <Enter>, or simply press <Esc>.
- When asked if you wish to quit, press <Y> (yes). If you
have modified the configuration you will now be asked if you wish
to save the configuration. Press <Y> again.
