Conventions
Following are the conventions used in this document:
- Special fonts
- A special font is used for any input you need to enter. For
example,
mkpconn
- Optional parameters will be displayed within square brackets.
For example,
ditty [-a] [altpin]
The square brackets themselves are not actually part of the
command, and should not be entered.
- Variables will be displayed in italics. For example,
stty-digi ttyname
Substitute an appropriate TTY name for ttyname in the
above command.
- A vertical bar character (|) is used to denote a choice
(logical "or"). For example,
set flow=on|off
The above command would be entered as either
set flow=on or set flow=off.
- Keys and titles of dialog boxes, indexes, menu bars, windows,
etc. appear exactly how they appear on the keyboard or on the
screen.
- The word, Choose, can mean Click, Point, Select, Hit, Press and
so on.
