Selecting and Adding Devices to Monitor
Use this topic to learn how to select and add devices to monitor.
Procedure: Selecting an Existing Device
- From the DPA - Remote Control Panel, choose the graph icon.
The Select a Device to Monitor window will appear.
- Choose the device from the IP Address or DNS Name drop-down
menu. If the desired device is not listed, do the procedure, Adding a
Device, below.
- Set the community for the device from the drop-down menu. Options are public,
private and <user-defined>. For more information, see Selecting
the Device
Community.
- Choose the Select button.
The Monitor Window for that device appears.
Should an error message occur when DPA - Remote is attempting to connect with the
device, see Error Messages.
Procedure: Adding a Device
- From the DPA - Remote Control Panel, choose the graph icon.
The Select a Device to Monitor window will appear.
- Enter the name or IP address of the device you wish to monitor.
- Choose the Add button.
- Set the community for the device from the drop-down menu. Options are public,
private and <user-defined>. For more information, see Selecting
the Device
Community.
- Choose the Select button.
The Monitor Window for that device appears.
