EtherLite Utilities

Use the following utility programs to setup and configure the EtherLite modules on a network. Most of these utility programs are available as part of the driver package. Store IP is downloadable separately from the Digi Technical Support website at http://supportold.digi.com.

Note: Boot Console is a mini-operating system contained within the EtherLite module and the Ping utility is a common TCP/IP-based program.

Operating System

Description of the utility program.

Store IP Windows based The preferred Digi utility program for assigning an IP address to an EtherLite module. Store IP stores the IP address permanently and can also be used to remove or change an IP address. Store IP works on any Windows operating system. See Assigning an IP Address: Store IP.
Boot Console All OSs Enables the user to assign an IP address to an EtherLite module. This program is helpful when a BootP or DHCP server are unavailable or when there are multiple BootP or DHCP servers on a system indiscriminately assigning IP addresses. Boot Console also provides for the assignment of gateway, subnet mask, and an authorized host IP address. A thorough reference on Boot Console is available on the Digi website at http://supportold.digi.com. A simple "boot console" search on the website will return the desired documentation. See Boot Console Commands, Assigning an IP Address (Temporary): Boot Console, and Assigning an IP Address (Permanent): Boot Console.
Ping All OSs Runs under TCP/IP and verifies whether a specific IP address is connected to and functioning on a network. An EtherLite module correctly installed will respond to a Ping query of its assigned IP address. See Using Ping.
