Navigation and Editing Keys

Use the following keys to navigate along the command line and edit device/terminal server commands. Use the set keys command to define different keys for these functions.

Moves the cursor back one space

CTRL-F

Moves the cursor forward one space

CTRL-H (Backspace)

Deletes the character to the left of the cursor

DELETE

Deletes the character under the cursor

CTRL-P

Scrolls back through commands

ENTER

Executes the command typed on the command line

Online help is available for device/terminal server commands. The following describes how to access help:

? or help (with no additional parameters)

Note: Both forms are permissible on all device/terminal servers, but their behavior is different. On all device/terminal servers, ? displays a list of commands. On PortServer TS 8/16, help also displays the command list, but on Digi One RealPort and PortServer TS 2/4, help provides a more verbose description of the command line interface.

Abbreviating Commands

All device/terminal server commands can be abbreviated. You need only supply a sufficient number of command letters to uniquely identify the command.
