Configuring RealPort 

This topic describes how to configure Digi One RealPort and PortServer TS devices to provide LAN-based servers with RealPort ports.

If you want to reserve certain ports for a specific RealPort host, supply a set auth command that specifies the following:

Procedure
  1. Configure the RealPort TCP port by specifying set config realport=771. (note: 771 is the default TCP port. You can use another if this port conflicts with one in use already.)
  2. Configure ports by supplying a set ports command that specifies the following:
Example

In this example, all of Digi device's ports are configured for RealPort. Ports 1 through 8 are reserved for one RealPort host and ports 9 through 16 are reserved for another.

set config realport=771
set ports range=1-16 dev=rp
set auth ip=199.250.225.10 realport=1-8
set auth ip=199.250.225.11 realport=9-16

Web Interface

This feature can be configured with the web interface on PortServer TS 8/16 systems. Digi One RealPort and PortServer TS 2/4 devices do not support the web interface.
