Configuration Overview: Directly Connected Terminal

Use this topic to identify all the tasks required to configure Digi One RealPort and PortServer TS from a terminal connected from a serial port.

Procedure

1. Connect and configure the terminal. See Setting Up a Configuration Terminal. 
2. From the terminal, log on to the Digi One RealPort or PortServer TS with administrator privileges. See Logging on as the Administrator.
3. Configure the Digi One RealPort or PortServer TS as required. This will typically include the following:
• Configuring attributes of the network interface, such a default gateway
• Configuring ports for modems, terminals, and printers
• Configuring users
