Master Setup Process

These are the steps necessary for the installation and configuration of RealPort.

1. Read any release notes that may be included with the installation media. Also read the Requirements and Considerations topic.
2. Gather information necessary for installation. See Information to Gather.
3. Install the RealPort driver. See Installing the Software: CD or Installing the Driver: Downloaded.
4. Configure the Digi device for RealPort. See Configuring a Digi One RealPort or PortServer for RealPort or Configuring EtherLite for RealPort.
5. Add the Digi device with smit. See Adding a Digi Device with smit.
6. Configure the Digi device with smit. See Configuring a Digi Device with smit.
7. Configure the TTY Devices as necessary. See the TTY configuration topics under Setup in the table of contents.
