Creating Installation Diskettes: Windows NT and Windows 2000

Use this Windows NT procedure to create a driver diskette that is readable by a UNIX system. This procedure is valid on Windows NT and Windows 2000 systems only. If you are using Windows 3.x/95/98, use the DOS procedure.

Procedure

  1. Download the utility ntrw.exe from one of these locations:

    http://supportold.digi.com/support/drivers/sco_unix/ntrw.exe

    ftp://ftp.digi.com/pub/shareware/winnt/ntrw.exe

  2. Format a blank 1.44 megabyte floppy diskette for each image you wish to create.
  3. Copy the downloaded diskette image file(s) and ntrw.exe into a common temporary folder.
  4. From the Start menu, choose Programs > Command Prompt.
  5. Change the current directory to the directory into which you copied ntrw.exe and the image files.
  6. At the command prompt, enter:

    ntrw filename drive:

where filename is the name of the diskette image file, and drive: is the diskette drive designator (typically A: or B:).

  7. Repeat step 6 for each diskette you wish to create.
