Master Setup Process

These are the steps necessary for the installation and configuration of RealPort.

1. Read any release notes that may be included with the installation media. Also read the Requirements and Considerations topic.

2. Gather information necessary for installation. See Information to Gather.

3. Configure the PortServer for RealPort. See Configuring a PortServer for RealPort.

4. Install the RealPort driver. See Driver Installation - CD.

5. Add the PortServer with smit. See Adding a PortServer with smit.

6. Configure the PortServer with smit. See Configuring a PortServer with smit.

7. Configure the TTY Devices as necessary. See the TTY configuration topics under Setup on the RealPort for AIX main page.
