Installing a Driver
Use these procedures to install a RealPort driver on a Windows NT 4.0 system.
Note: Installing the driver is only one of the tasks you must perform
in order to set up RealPort. See Master
Setup Process for a complete list of setup tasks.
Procedure: Installing a Driver from the Digi CD
Use this procedure when you install the driver from a Digi CD.
- Sign on as the administrator.
- Place the CD in the CD drive.
- If autorun is enabled, go to the next step. Otherwise, do the following:

Choose Start > Run... . |

From the command line, specify a path to the
root directory on the CD and a file named setup.bat. |

Choose OK. |
- When the CD front end menu
appears, choose Microsoft Windows NT (if it is not selected already).
- Choose Install Drivers and then follow the prompts.
Procedure: Installing a Driver without Using the CD Menu Program
Use this procedure when you download a driver from the Digi web site or move
the driver files from the Digi CD to installation diskettes.
- From the Start menu, choose Settings > Control Panel
>
Network >
Services.
- Choose Add > Have Disk....
- Type in the path to where the RealPort files are stored and then choose OK.
- Choose Digi RealPort Service and then OK.
The files are installed and the configuration wizard is started.
- Follow the prompts and use the online help text for assistance in completing
configuration.
- When you finish the configuration, restart the system.
