Checking the Port Parameter Settings: Windows NT

Use this troubleshooting procedure to check the port parameter settings from the Windows NT operating system.

Procedure

  1. Access the peripheral's documentation and record settings for baud rate, data rate, data bits, parity, stop bits, and flow control.

  2. On the Windows NT system, choose Start > Settings > Control Panel > Ports.

  3. Choose a RealPort port from the list and then choose Settings.

  4. Ensure that the settings for Baud Rate, Data Rate, Data Bits, Parity, Stop Bits, and Flow Control are appropriate for your peripheral.
