This topic describes how to configure serial ports, which includes configuring port direction (incoming and outgoing), transmission speed, and other port attributes.
Note: These procedures assume that a generic SVR4 port configuration utility called sysadm is available through your operating system. SCO UnixWare users should use the procedure found in General SCO UnixWare Device Configuration.
At a UNIX command prompt, type sysadm
and then press
<Enter>.
Choose Ports > Quick Terminal > Add.
Follow the remaining sysadm prompts.
Repeat these steps for every port to be enabled.
Exit sysadm.
At a UNIX command prompt, type sysadm and then press
<Enter>.
Choose Ports > Ports Services > Modify.
Follow the remaining sysadm prompts.
Change the port parameters as needed.
Repeat these steps for every port.
Exit sysadm.
