Master Setup Process

This Overview outlines the general procedure for installing and configuring the Solaris device driver for AccelePort Xp adapters.

1. Install the adapter. See the appropriate hardware installation card for more information.
2. Install the Solaris driver. See: Installing the Driver: CD and Installing the Driver: Downloaded.

   For more information on the devices created during installation, see Device Names.

3. If you plan to use PortAssist Manager, load the PortAssist Manager Communication Agent. See About PortAssist Manager and  Loading the Communication Agent.
4. Confirm AccelePort Xp functionality by testing the ports. See Testing a Port. This step is optional.
5. Configure the ports. See Device Configuration Overview.
