Assigning an IP Address: Windows-based Store IP Utility
Use this procedure to permanently store an IP address in an
EtherLite module. The Store IP utility should work on any Windows
system.
Note: Store IP will work on an EtherLite module with a
firmware version of 6.4 or later.
Procedure
- Download the storeip32.exe from the Digi website at
http://supportold.digi.com. It is located in the sts-els
folder under Diagnostic Tools, Utilities, Applications, and
Clients.
- Connect the EtherLite module to the network using a 10Base-T
cable.
Note: Do not plug the power cable into the EtherLite
module at this time.
- Execute the storeip32.exe program. Follow the program
prompts.
- Enter the MAC (Media Access Control) address. The MAC address
is found on the back panel next to the power outlet.
Note: The first six digits or letters (00AOE7) are
already entered. Enter only the last six letters and digits.
- Enter the IP address assigned by the network administrator.
Each EtherLite module needs a separate IP address.
- Plug in the power cable and a confirmation message should
appear displaying the IP address.
- Verify the network connection of the EtherLite module by using
the Ping program. See Using
Ping.
