Master Setup Process: Digi RAS Adapters

Use this process to set up a Digi RAS RAS adapter.

  1. Prepare for configuration by gathering configuration information. See Information to Gather.
  2. Install any operating system patches required to support this driver. See System Requirements for identification of the required patches.
  3. Install the adapter. See the appropriate hardware installation card for more information.
  4. Install the SCO UnixWare driver. See one of the following: Installing the Driver: CD or Installing the Driver: Downloaded.
  5. Read the release notes located in /etc/inst/nd/mdi/dgisdn/rnotes.
  6. If you plan to use PortAssist Manager, load the PortAssist Manager Communication Agent. See About PortAssist Manager and Loading the Communication Agent.
  7. Add the Digi adapter to the WAN device list. See Adding a WAN Device.
  8. Set up modems for auto answer. This step is only required if you want to support dial-in modem connections. See Setting Ports to Auto-Answer.
  9. Enable Dial-in connections. See Enabling Devices for Dial-in.
  10. For ISDN connections, configure PPP connections. See the SCO online documentation for information on PPP configuration. (This step is not applicable to RAS 4/8 adapters.)
