Master Setup Process

Use this procedure to set up an AccelePort RAS A adapter in HP-UX.

Overview

1. Install the adapter. See the appropriate hardware installation card for more information.
2. Install the HP-UX device driver package. See Installing a Driver: CD and Installing a Driver: Downloaded.

   The device driver package creates devices in /dev. See: Device Names.

3. If necessary, configure the driver for the proper modem nationality. This can be done with either the dm_gui or dm_admin utility. See About dm_gui,  dm_admin and dgdxb_config, Using dm_gui and Using dm_admin.
4. If you plan to use PortAssist Manager, load the PortAssist Manager Communication Agent. See About PortAssist Manager and  Loading theCommunication Agent.
5. Configure the HP-UX AccelePort RAS devices for dial-in and dial-out capabilities. See Dial-in/Dial-out Configuration.
