Assigning an IP Address Using Boot Console

Use this procedure to store a static IP address in an EtherLite module. Boot Console can also assign subnet mask and gateway addresses.

Procedure

  1. Download the storeip32.exe from the Digi website at http://supportold.digi.com. Locate Diagnostic Tools and Utilities.
  2. Connect the EtherLite module to the network using a 10Base-T cable.

    Note: Do not plug the power cable in to the EtherLite module.

  3. Execute the storeip32.exe program. Follow the program prompts.
  4. Enter the MAC address. The MAC address is found on the back panel next to the power plugin.

    Note: The first six digits or letters are 00AOE7 are already entered. Enter only the last six letters and digits.

  5. Enter the IP address assigned by the network administrator. Each EtherLite module needs a separate IP address.
  6. Plug in the power cable and an onscreen confirmation should appear for the IP address.
  7. Verify the new IP address by using the Ping utility. See Using Ping.
