Master Setup Process

Use this process to set up Digi RAS adapters for Novell NetWare 4.11, 4.2, and 5.x.

Note: If you are using this product under NIAS (Novell NetWare Internet Access Server), be sure to install ISDN ports before installing any modems. Failure to do so will greatly lengthen the installation procedure.

Overview of Setup Steps

1. Prepare for installation by gathering configuration information. See Information to Gather. 
2. Install the adapter. See the hardware installation card for instructions.
3. Install the driver. See one of the following: Installing the Driver: Server Console or Installing the Driver: Windows Client. 
4. Configure line parameters using the dgrascfg utility. See Setting Up a Line with dgrascfg.
5. Configure the adapter and load the driver. See Configuring the Driver: ISDN and Configuring the Driver: Modems.
6. Verify that the driver has been installed properly. See Verifying the Installation
7. If you want to load the driver manually. See Loading the Driver Manually.
8. If you plan to use PortAssist Manager, load the PortAssist Manager. See About PortAssist Manager and Loading the Communication Agent.
